these books concern first of all techniques for . 2019-06-12 What representation theory is. Representation theory of groups and Lie algebras and Lie rings is the branch of science that studies symmetries. Initially designed to study symmetries of (solutions of) algebraic equations it soon found its application in geology, namely, in crystallography (certain groups are now said to be crystallographic). Dual Representation Theory (Brewin, Dalgleish & Joseph, 1996) suggests that the efficiency of peri-traumatic verbal processing (i.e. verbal processing during the traumatic event) is a key factor 2021-04-07 This chapter begins with the author's own view, based on C.S. Peirce's general theory of representation, and then uses that as a basis of comparison to other views.

In this book (maybe this is the only one except H Weyl ofcourse:))you can find a motivation to get into the modern representation theory. And btw Naimark's book its also a good math book. No SF physics. To summarize, Greiner's book is better explain, but because of this, it covers less (it stops more or less with charachter theory and Dynkin diagram/Cartan approach included). Georgi has less explainations, is more computational (a kind of "recipe book") so it goes further in terms of content. From Google Books: William Fulton, Joe Harris. Representation Theory.

As simple as is the definition of representation theory given above, it fragments considerably when we try to get more specific.

Probably the termonology is more modern. The book is intended as a textbook for a course on representation theory, which could immediately follow the standard graduate abstract algebra course, and for subsequent more advanced reading courses. Therefore, more than 350 exercises at various levels of difficulty are included. It is for such people that this text is designed. Galois Theory Through Exercises Juliusz Brzeziński Springer

amazing book Special Functions and the Theory of Group Representations by N.Vilenkin; later chapters in this book use the representation theory of other physically signi cant Lie groups (the Lorentz group, the group of Euclidean motions, etc.) to explain a vast array of properties of many special functions of mathematical physics. The chapters in this volume deal with our devices for singular reference and singular representation, taking them in different ways. The precise relation between using a linguistic expression to refer to an object and our mental representation of it has always been, and still is, one of the key topics of debate in philosophy of language, linguistics, and the cognitive sciences.
